Director of Emergency Services

A regional community hospital is seeking a dynamic Director of Emergency Services to lead their ED team and ensure exceptional, patient-focused care. This leader will guide clinical operations, strengthen performance, support staff development, and drive quality and safety across all emergency services.
This role is hands on, closely connected to daily workflow, staffing, and frontline support. The ideal leader is an experienced RN with emergency expertise who can bring structure, teamwork, and dependable follow through to the department.
What You’ll Do:
- Daily operations, staffing, throughput, and patient experience.
- Coaching and support for Charge Nurses, travelers, and frontline staff.
- Cultural reset after several years of leadership turnover.
- Hands-on leadership.
- Regulatory readiness and improvement of key metrics such as LOS, LWBS, door-to-provider times, and patient satisfaction.
Requirements:
- RN license required (compact accepted).
- Bachelor’s degree required (or 7+ years of relevant emergency experience in lieu of degree).
- Master’s degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of ED or related acute care leadership experience required.
- 3–5 years of progressive ED clinical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of emergency nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and performance improvement methodology.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership abilities.
