A respected Critical Access Hospital is seeking a Director of Quality / Risk Management / Patient Safety to lead clinical quality, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, infection prevention, and patient safety initiatives across the organization.
This is a highly visible leadership role working closely with the CNO, executive team, Board, and Medical Staff to strengthen systems, promote a culture of safety, and ensure survey readiness and regulatory excellence.
Position Highlights
✔️ Salary: $115K–$190K DOE
✔️ Full-time leadership role
✔️ Executive-level visibility and Board interaction
✔️ Oversight of Quality, Risk, Patient Safety, Regulatory Compliance, Infection Prevention & Employee Health
✔️ Lead survey readiness and serve as liaison to The Joint Commission
✔️ Drive Performance Improvement initiatives aligned with Critical Access Hospital standards
Ideal Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or healthcare-related field ~ required
- Master’s degree in healthcare-related field ~ strongly preferred
- 5+ years of experience in quality, risk, or patient safety program management
- Certification in Quality (CPHQ/HCQM/CPQPS), Risk (CPHRM), or Patient Safety (CPPS) or ability to obtain within 18 months
- Experience leading Performance Improvement (QAPI), RCA/FMEA processes, and regulatory compliance initiatives
- Lean, Lean Six Sigma, or TeamSTEPPS training ~ preferred
- Progressive leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and build high-performing teams
