Charge Nurse: Women’s and Children’s Services Department

Location: Oregon

 

Shift: Evenings

Reports to:  WCS Department RN Manager

 

Join a community hospital that has “2” new charge nurse opportunities in their busy Women's and Children's Services department. The WCS Charge Nurse is responsible for all patient care activities, unit operation, and staff function. Manages the quality of care on the unit by providing direct care and supervising the care given by nurses and supportive staff. Functions in direct patient care 80% of time, education functions, unit projects as assigned, and relief administrative supervisor. Provides timely, effective feedback to staff on patient care and activities within the department. Participates in committees/teams as assigned. This position works closely with the Department Director and other Charge Nurse leaders.

 

Women's and Children's Services Departmental Stats:

  • Departmental staff includes CNA, RN, Lactation consultant, Surgical tech, and Childbirth Educator
  • Births Per Month: 60-70
  • Unit:  14 LDRP's, 8 NICU/Peds rooms, 1 operating room and 2 triage rooms
  • Low and moderate risk LDRP patients

 

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Nursing, required, BSN, preferred.
  • 2+ years of clinical nursing experience required.
  • LDRP bedside experience, preferred.
  • Current Oregon RN License, required.
  • Certifications: NRP, BLS, required.
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification preferred, required within 6 months of hire, required.
  • Recent experience with Experience with quality improvement; developing initiatives, monitoring clinical care, required.
  • Bilingual, preferred.
